Clove Hydrosol
Clove Hydrosol
I’ve had Clove hydrosol on my mind for well over a year. Initially I wanted to create this product for a mouth spray on the go, but since I’ve formulated and started using it, I’ve grown to love all of the uses and benefits of clove hydrosol.
Clove is well known for its antimicrobial properties. It’s notorious for oral care as well. Clove is known to assist with pain relief and boasts anti-inflammatory properties.
Energetically, clove invokes protection and stability. It provides a sense of grounding and aids in prosperity. Of course with its power and strength, clove assists in balancing and purifying energy. It has the potential to amplify courage and strength. There is also a very sensual property to clove that I adore; that spicy/sweet kind of magic.
I adore this hydrosol as a linen spray. The aroma makes a bed so warm and inviting. Same goes for use in the car. I’ve used it as a quick refresh for my underarms, as well as a mouth spray as mentioned above, which is why it’s the perfect hydrosol to keep in the car or in your purse. It is also a very pleasant hydrosol to use in skincare, encouraging blood flow and circulation. I also love using this on my hair and scalp.
This product is a labor of pure love. I brew this hydrosol in my copper still using organic herbs and spring water. The result is slightly sweet, super earthy, skincare magic.
Hydrosols are essentially a shelf-stable plant water. Through the magic of distillation, you get to experience the essence of powerful plants in a convenient, gentle spray. Hydrosols offer delectable plant energy and make the perfect skincare accompaniment. Another benefit of hydrosols is that they are completely safe for sensitive beings like little ones and pets, and can be used as liberally and often as desired.
Note: hydrosols offer a surprising aroma. Unlike essential oils, hydrosols offer a much richer, deeper, earthy musky smell. Although many herbs are considered to be sweet and aromatic, once distilled, the sweetness is mild and a more pungent smell arises. This is completely normal and does not mean there is anything wrong with the hydrosol. Many find this earthiness pleasant, others not so much. I enjoy the aroma and I love putting my focus on feeling the energy these plants have to offer.
Lovingly made by me in small batches in my gorgeous copper still.
Warning: I’ve made this hydrosol somewhat mild, but I still highly recommend doing a patch test on your skin before use. Sensitive skin might feel irritated by the warming properties.
